Eve Macro Economic Factors
Massively posted a good article summarizing the various macro economic factors driving the market in Eve Online. I have to agree overall with the summary in the article and would further point out that the in game market continues to edge toward a bit of ruin. I don’t hear it addressed in many places outside of forum rants that the general hording inside the game may have made a mineral market recovery almost impossible for the foreseeable future. One of the major problems in my opinion is the market was never intended to be a market, though I’m sure the designers think it was. Instead the market has always been designed to try to drive PvP and the essentially the whole game is designed to drive PvP. This is neither good nor bad but it does undermine the credibility of changes to the economy painted as strictly based on market theory. The constant subscript of any change in Eve will always been how it drives PvP.
